Welcome Our New Resident Artist!
The Craft Center is happy to welcome our new Glass Studio Resident Artist, Sarah Vaughn. Sarah graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, in 2007, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, specializing in glass. At graduation, Sarah was honored with the Rickert Ziebold trust award, the sole recipient, for her glasswork. She then moved to Saint Louis, Missouri, to work and teach at the Third Degree Glass Factory. Sarah’s work was featured in the Bullseye Glass’ “Emerge 2008” show and publication.Sarah brings with her a great variety of glass expertise, and will be an excellent addition to the Craft Center team. Beginning this Winter Term 2010, Sarah will teach workshops in glassblowing, glass fusing and torchwork.
The Craft Center

The Center is both educational and recreational, and encourages all levels of interest, from beginning hobbyist to serious artist. With well-equipped studios and extensive workshops offered each term, the Craft Center augments and compliments the educational opportunities available at the UO.Workshops are offered each term and vary in length from one day to eight weeks. Most are offered in late afternoon or early evening in order to accommodate students’ class schedules. Accomplished artists and crafts people teach these intimate, informal classes, with an emphasis on quality individual instruction designed to encourage students to pursue their creative side.
